SIMPLE DECOR FOR SPRING AND EASTER RESOURCES

SIMPLE DECOR FOR SPRING AND EASTER RESOURCES

This is the most very basic of posts… I really wanted to share simple spring decor that doesn’t include flowers and bunnies. This is simple, NOT overwhelming… it took me thirty minutes total. That thirty minutes includes getting on the internet to find the right succulents for this project. I would never ever tell you that I am someone who ‘decorates’ or… what did my longest friend (Tavia) call it… ‘style’ my house. However, I do enjoy putting a center piece at the table for important seasons.

CENTER TRAY

This is exactly like it looks, white path, black on the edged, succulents placed around the black rock. A long wood tray would be even better, with or without the white rocks. If you have something similar that you think will work, try that first. You might find that you like it WAY more than what I have done for our house.

CROSS VASE

I found long sticks in the yard, this vase was sitting around the house… It had live tulip bulbs in it when I got it as a baby gift. I tied fishing wire around the sticks to make the cross, and pushed them into the green foam. It had been sitting in the craft supplies. I added the green rocks to cover the green foam.
This is honestly completely my style. It’s not main stream or chic, but I love it.

OTHER RESOURCES

Diana Kokku has an amazing Lent and Easter Resource. It is well worth your time to check it out, even though it is already mostly through Lent. I used this study last year and found it impactful and truthful. It also includes simple spring decor ideas for you as well, I got my ideas from Diana – so all credit should rest here!

Resurrection Bundt Cake is such a great way to celebrate Easter and get the kids involved. It is a little time the day before, but hopefully you can find time!

THEORY

For those of you who are hanging around or wondering why I say these are intentional choices, even though it is all simple. I would love to explain. These decor items all mean something. They are deeply connected to our faith, each represents different aspects of the story of the first Easter. The beautiful, complete and perfect sacrifice made by the Son of Man, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This sacrifices brings forth new life, abundant life from harsh circumstances and life that breathes out beauty and glory to God.
