Why Grit?
There was a point, standing in our gravel driveway, making a list of all the things we needed to do that I thought “We are up grit creek. To get anything done will take all the grit we have and more.” This was not just updating the buildings and cleaning out tree rows, this includes raising sons, creating financial freedom and becoming more like Jesus Christ, every day.
One thing I have realized since that day is that anyone who become and remains successful has learned to live with a level of grit that makes them seem to be intense. At least compared to many of the other people around them. The reasons they have become successful in one area or another is unique, but the attributes that got them there are not that unique.
WHat is GRIT?
GRIT: a powerful motivation to overcome obstacles in order to accomplish a significant long-term goal.
WHO ARE WE?
A husband, wife and four sons. Our purpose is to glorify God of the Bible. We live in a small town in central Kansas, on a small farmstead with some chickens and a garden. We have the opportunity to do many different things and to value many different things. But to summarize we do hard things to get good results. Not good by the world’s standard – but good by the biblical standard.
WHAT are we doing here?
Our goal is to be a family who lives with honor, integrity and grit. But we really don’t have a direction for a blog – other than encourage you that hard things and long-term goals are worth it all.
We are hoping that we can show that the value of life lived, slow, simple and steady gives you a strong foundation on which to build.
