TEN PRACTICAL KITCHEN ITEMS FOUND ON AMAZON

These items are all found on Amazon and in our kitchen! We have all of these products in regular rotation in our home, these are honest and hopefully helpful – we are not even affiliated with Amazon. We simply want to share these products with you as practical tools for you have in your kitchen.

Anti Fatigue Kitchen Mats

We absolutely love these – but I never would have thought to buy them. They seemed unnecessary. These mats are moved around the kitchen so that there is always a soft place to stand as I make bread, jam or cut up vegetables for soup. There are likely a lot of brands – these are the ones Cole found on sale sometime at the end of 2022.

Kitchen Stove Counter Gap Covers

These are useful for a couple reasons. Obviously this helps to hide the gaps between the counter top and the stove. I like these for two reasons, one – you don’t drop food in between the counter and the stove. Another benefit is that we have one side of the counter that is not square counter tops and the gap on one side is larger than the other. This means, I am not staring at uneven gaps every time I make toasted rice… that is a good thing. These also blend in on our counter so that no one really notices they are there. It just looks like the edge of the oven. Last reason to try, they are able to be trimmed down to the right length for your oven.
These aren’t fancy – but they are so practical.

Non-Stick, Food Safe Baking Mat

Honestly these have been so great. This just happens to be the brand that I use. Surely there are other great brands out there. What we love about these mats is the ease of cleaning both the mat and the pan. It is significantly quicker to wash both. I also love the fact that I am not using parchment paper every time we bake anymore. These might not be the perfect solution – but right now it is the better solution. We are headed for better.

Odor-Free, Quick Drying & Non-Scratch Dish Clothes

I can’t recommend just one because I love both of these dish rags. I have honestly told everyone about these as though my life depends on it. Though it may seem strange to you right now – I will never ever go back to a regular dish rag. Simply because a regular dish cloth always get stinky and slimy in my kitchen. The only down fall is that it doesn’t wipe the counters or baby hands all that well – it leaves water behind and is a bit scratchy for soft skin. But my next item helps to solve that problem. The Lunatec is a marketed as a camping wash cloth. I am certain that it does a fantastic job in that setting as well. I do feel oddly loyal to these two brands simply because they have done a fantastic job in my house and have been doing it a longer than some other brands out there.

Reusable & Washable Paper Towels or Paperless Napkins

These have replaced 90% of our paper product usage. These are well worth every penny we have spent on them. Our whole family uses these for paper towels, napkins, tissues, baby wipes (in a pinch), table rags and wipe the baby’s face and hands. We actually need to buy a second roll. These are the solution to the wetness left behind from the odorless dish rags right above. We have been using these for over two years and will continue to use them. Our main issue is that we were not patient enough to roll them back up so they are piled in our drawer. It works even better for us so that our young boys can got and get once without unrolling the whole thing. The only other issue we have is that they hold on to grime a bit so I put them in a vinegar soak every few months and they come out good as new. We are also loyal to this brand because of the commitment to the environment and she is a one woman small business.

Vintage Style Cookbook Stand Decorative CAST IRON

If I remember correctly, I cried when this showed up at the door. It was in a moment of time when I wasn’t loving being home with the boys and felt overwhelmed and undervalued. I mentioned this item to Cole, I felt like I was asking too much. I was so frustrated about my cookbooks shutting on me all the time… which was simply too much to handle at that exact moment in time. Cole got it for me without question and without telling me. It showed up at the door a day or two later and made me feel seen, appreciated and valued – it still almost makes me cry. Now this is not a particularly special stand – but it still means a lot to me. This is made of cast iron, it is heavy and holds cookbooks or planners open. We keep it on the counter and it looks nice as well. For me, it is more about the story than it is about the exact item – but either way. I hope you like the cookbook stand as well.

Danish Dough Whisk

These are unexpectedly wonderful. I thought about getting these at one point but decided it was unnecessary. I got one in my stocking for Christmas 2022 and it has hardly stayed clean. It is the go to for baked oatmeal, scrambled eggs, no knead bread dough and pancake batter… Agreed, it doesn’t look like it would do all those different textures very well. I am here to tell you honestly, it really does do every thing. Please do yourself a favor and give this a try.

Black dish towels with waffle weave

I liked these at first for no other reason than they are black. But I have been using them for three years and they are still holding up. After the fact that I like how these towels look in my kitchen – there are three other things I really like about these dish towels. First – they dry really fast so that we can count on it being ready when we need it in a pinch. Second – they don’t leave any lint on the dish or counter top. Third – these don’t show stains. I can clean up tomato sauce, grape juice, wine or whatever other gross things we get into around here and never once worry about it showing on my towels.

OVER THE SINK DRYING RACKS

These are the two dish drying racks we use in our house. I like them each. The expandable one is easy to remove and use as we need. We got it right before moving out of our old house, into an RV and then into our current house. As you might imagine – we had a different sized sink in each place and the expandable dish rack worked in each one. It has been such a huge blessing. The flat drying rack stores really easily under the sink and makes an easy place to set drying dishes. It also makes for a little extra counter space in our comparatively small kitchen. Each is a benefit to our family so I couldn’t choose jus one!
